A BRAND-NEW METAL ROOF.
THE INSTALLATION INCLUDES HOW WE CARE FOR YOUR HOME
A Great Roof Should Not Come With a Mess Left Behind
Roofing work involves materials, tools, packaging, ladders and regular movement around your home. Property protection and cleanup cannot be treated as an afterthought.
ROOFNOW™ plans where materials will arrive, where crews can work, what areas require protection and how waste will leave the site. When the installation is complete, the goal is simple: your home and property should look the way they did before we arrived—except now you have a newly installed metal roof.
BEFORE THE FIRST LADDER GOES UP
Property Protection Starts With a Site Plan
Every property is different. The crew needs to understand access, landscaping, exterior features and household routines before installation begins.
Access Route
Confirm where crews, ladders and equipment can move without blocking essential household access.
Material Staging
Select a stable location for roofing, trims and accessories away from damage-prone areas.
Waste Location
Plan containers or collection areas so removed materials can be controlled and removed efficiently.
Landscape Review
Identify gardens, shrubs, trees, planters and delicate areas that need extra care.
Exterior Features
Review siding, windows, decks, railings, lighting, heat pumps, pools and other property details.
Vehicle Plan
Keep vehicles away from active drop zones and preserve agreed access when possible.
Family & Pets
Discuss safe entry points and areas children and pets should avoid while work is underway.
Neighbouring Property
Consider tight side yards, shared drives, fences and nearby homes before setting the work zone.
PROTECTION MATCHED TO THE PROPERTY
We Look Beyond the Roof
The installation happens above your home, but people and materials move through the property below it.
Protection methods are selected for the actual site and roofing scope. Depending on the project, this can include controlled drop areas, ground coverings, temporary barriers, protected material storage and careful ladder placement. The purpose is to reduce avoidable contact with the parts of the home you are keeping.
VIEW OUR METAL ROOF INSTALLATION PROCESS →CONTROL THE WORK ZONE
Defined access for people, ladders and materials.
Organized staging for panels, trims and tools.
Controlled waste instead of loose debris.
Clear pathways at agreed entrances and exits.
WHILE INSTALLATION IS UNDERWAY
A Clean Site Is Maintained Throughout the Job
Cleanup is not one task saved for the final afternoon.
Packaging, metal cut-offs, fasteners and other job materials should be collected as work progresses. Tools and roofing components should remain organized, and access routes should be checked regularly. At the end of the workday, loose materials must be secured against wind and the site left in an orderly condition for the household.
DAILY HOUSEKEEPING
Small Actions Prevent a Large Cleanup Problem
Weather, roof design and removal requirements change the work each day, but the basic housekeeping principles remain consistent.
Collect Cut-Offs
Metal offcuts and trim pieces are gathered instead of being left around the property.
Control Packaging
Wraps, cardboard and lightweight materials are contained so they cannot blow across the site.
Gather Fasteners
Visible screws, nails and small components are collected from active work and traffic areas.
Keep Access Clear
Agreed doors, walkways and drive areas are maintained as safely and practically as the work allows.
Secure Materials
Roofing, tools and loose supplies are stored or secured before the crew leaves.
Check the Perimeter
The immediate work zone is reviewed so debris does not accumulate from one day to the next.
WHEN AN EXISTING ROOF IS REMOVED
Tear-Off Requires Additional Control
Removing old roofing creates more debris and more movement around the home than an approved installation that does not require removal.
The plan should define removal areas, waste handling, deck inspection and temporary weather protection. Old roofing and debris should move toward controlled collection points—not across gardens, decks and household entrances. The roof should be opened in a sequence that can be safely protected from changing weather.
Controlled Drop Areas
Keep removal activity away from people and sensitive property features.
Prompt Waste Collection
Move debris into the planned container or collection area.
Deck Inspection
Review exposed roof areas before the new system covers them.
Weather Protection
Coordinate underlayment and temporary protection with the daily work limit.
PROTECTION ALSO MEANS WATCHING THE WEATHER
Plan the Work That Can Be Safely Completed Each Day
Ontario weather can change quickly. The installation sequence should reflect the forecast, roof design and available temporary protection.
Materials must be secured against wind, and exposed roof areas must be limited to what the crew can properly protect. A clean site also helps the team see what is complete, what remains open and what needs attention before the day ends.
FASTENERS REQUIRE MORE THAN ONE LOOK
Visual Checks and Magnetic Sweeps Work Together
Where ferrous nails or fasteners may be present, magnetic sweeping can be part of the cleanup—but it does not replace careful visual inspection.
Driveways, walkways, lawn edges, gardens and material-staging areas should be checked. Multiple passes may be appropriate after removal work. Non-magnetic items, hidden debris and small pieces still require visual collection, which is why the final inspection covers the entire work perimeter.
SWEEP • LOOK • COLLECT • RECHECK
No single cleanup method sees everything. A thorough finish combines the right tools with attention to detail.
WHEN THE ROOF IS COMPLETE
The Final Cleanup Covers the Whole Work Area
The last phase is not finished until installation materials are removed, the property is checked and the final roof details are reviewed.
Roof-Level Review
Check completed panels, trims, flashings, closures and visible work details.
Remove Surplus Materials
Collect approved waste, packaging, cut-offs and installation supplies.
Ground Cleanup
Review staging, access, drop and work-perimeter areas.
Fastener Sweep
Use appropriate visual and magnetic checks where fasteners may be present.
Restore the Work Zone
Remove temporary protection and return movable items handled by the crew.
Final Walkaround
Review the completed roof, property condition and remaining project items.

A FEW SIMPLE PREPARATIONS HELP
How Homeowners Can Prepare for Installation Day
The project plan should clearly identify anything the homeowner needs to move, secure or make available before the crew arrives.
Every home and scope is different, so ROOFNOW™ will explain the specific requirements for your project. If something is difficult to move or you have special access needs, discuss it before installation begins.
- ✓ Move vehicles from agreed work and delivery areas
- ✓ Secure pets and keep children away from work zones
- ✓ Remove fragile items from decks, patios and wall areas
- ✓ Unlock gates and identify approved exterior access
- ✓ Point out septic systems, irrigation or buried services
- ✓ Tell the crew about special household access requirements
