Privacy Policy
This policy explains how RoofNow Inc., operating as ROOFNOW™, collects, uses, discloses, stores and protects personal information when you visit our website, contact us or request information about a roofing project.
Contact, property and roofing details help us respond to your request.
Information is shared only for legitimate business, service or legal purposes.
Request access, correction or withdrawal of consent, subject to applicable law.
1. Scope of this policy
This privacy policy applies to personal information handled by RoofNow Inc., operating as ROOFNOW™ (referred to as “ROOFNOW,” “we,” “us” or “our”), through roofnow.ca, our estimate and contact forms, telephone conversations and related customer communications.
It does not govern independent websites, manufacturers, social networks or other third parties that maintain their own privacy practices. This policy is intended to explain our practices and does not limit rights available under applicable law.
2. Information we collect
The information we collect depends on how you interact with us.
If you become a customer, we may also collect records related to estimates, contracts, scheduling, installation, warranties, payments and customer service. Please do not submit sensitive personal information that is not needed for a roofing inquiry.
3. How we collect information
We may collect personal information when you:
- complete an estimate, contact or product inquiry form;
- call, email or otherwise communicate with ROOFNOW;
- request an inspection, consultation, estimate or roofing service;
- enter into a contract or receive roofing work;
- interact with our website, advertisements or linked online content; or
- provide information through a representative authorized to act for you.
We may also receive limited technical information automatically from your browser, device, hosting provider or measurement tools used on the website.
4. How we use personal information
We may use personal information to:
- respond to questions and confirm whether we serve your location;
- review roofing needs and prepare a property-specific estimate;
- recommend products, profiles, colours and installation approaches;
- schedule inspections, deliveries, installation and follow-up service;
- administer contracts, payments, warranties and customer records;
- communicate about an active or requested roofing project;
- operate, secure, troubleshoot and improve our website and services;
- prevent spam, misuse, fraud and security incidents;
- maintain business, tax, insurance and legal records; and
- comply with applicable laws and enforce agreements.
We will not use personal information for a new purpose that is materially different from the purpose communicated at collection without obtaining any consent required by law.
5. Consent and communication choices
By voluntarily submitting information or asking us to contact you, you consent to our collection, use and disclosure of that information for the purposes described in this policy and reasonably connected to your request.
You may withdraw consent for optional uses or communications by contacting us, subject to reasonable notice and legal or contractual restrictions. Withdrawing consent may prevent us from completing an estimate, providing requested service or maintaining warranty and transaction records where those records are required.
6. When information may be shared
We do not sell or rent personal information. We may disclose it to:
- employees and authorized representatives who need it to assist you;
- website hosting, form processing, email, telephone, scheduling, storage, payment or technology providers;
- manufacturers, suppliers, delivery providers or project partners when necessary for the requested roofing work;
- professional advisers such as legal, accounting, insurance or security providers;
- a purchaser or successor in connection with a proposed or completed business transaction, subject to appropriate protections; or
- government, regulatory, law-enforcement or other parties where disclosure is permitted or required by law.
Service providers are expected to use information only for the services they perform for us and to protect it using safeguards appropriate to the information.
7. Estimate forms and Formspree
ROOFNOW estimate and contact forms may use Formspree as the form-processing service. When you submit a form, the information entered may be transmitted to Formspree, processed through its systems and delivered to ROOFNOW by email, dashboard or another configured method.
Formspree handles information under its own privacy policy. Depending on provider operations, personal information may be processed or stored outside Ontario or Canada and may therefore be subject to the laws of another jurisdiction.
8. Cookies, logs and analytics
Our website and service providers may use cookies, server logs, pixels or similar technologies to keep the site working, remember preferences, measure traffic, understand page performance, prevent spam and improve user experience.
Your browser controls
You can usually block or delete cookies using browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect website features. If optional analytics or advertising tools are enabled, their providers may receive device, browser and interaction data under their own privacy terms.
9. How long information is kept
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including responding to inquiries, managing projects, providing warranty or customer service, resolving disputes and meeting tax, insurance, accounting, legal and recordkeeping obligations.
Retention periods vary by record type and relationship. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete, destroy or anonymize it, subject to backup cycles and legal requirements.
10. Safeguards
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity and amount of information involved. These may include access controls, trusted service providers, secure transmission, account protection, staff practices and record-disposal procedures.
No website, email system, transmission or storage method is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to reduce foreseeable risks and respond to suspected incidents in accordance with applicable requirements.
11. Your privacy choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to:
- confirm whether we hold personal information about you;
- provide access to personal information we hold about you;
- correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- explain how information has been used or disclosed;
- withdraw consent for optional future uses or communications; or
- delete information that is no longer required, where deletion is legally and operationally permitted.
We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. Access or deletion can be limited by legal exceptions, another person’s privacy, privilege, active disputes, contractual duties or mandatory record-retention requirements.
12. Children and minors
This website is intended for property owners, customers and adults seeking roofing information. It is not directed to children. Minors should not submit personal information or request services without the involvement of a parent or legal guardian.
13. External websites and social platforms
Our website may link to manufacturers, educational resources, social media and other third-party websites. A link does not make ROOFNOW responsible for that party’s privacy, security or content. Review the privacy policy of each external service before providing personal information.
14. Changes to this privacy policy
We may update this policy when our services, providers, website or legal obligations change. The revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Material changes may also be communicated by another reasonable method where appropriate.
15. Canadian privacy law and complaints
Our privacy practices are guided by applicable Canadian privacy requirements, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) where it applies. PIPEDA’s fair information principles address accountability, purposes, consent, limiting collection, limiting use and retention, accuracy, safeguards, openness, access and complaint procedures.
You can review the official PIPEDA text and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada’s fair information principles.
Please contact ROOFNOW first so we can review and respond to a privacy concern. If a concern remains unresolved, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or another regulator with jurisdiction.
